Thick Glass Countertops are not only functional, a glass countertop will be a work of art for your home. Texture and movement is cast into the glass. This design is entirely customizable and you can even be the artist. We love the clean look of Ultra clear glass where the iron is removed and the glass is as pure as possible. Low Iron glass eliminates the green hue we see in standard clear. The glass can also be back painted to any color you specify. Just want a little color? Rainbow of colors can be added to the glass.
At The Glass Shoppe, we can cut and fabricate a glass counter top to meet all of your custom design needs. Options for glass countertops are endless. We work directly with our clients to design a countertop that meets all of their design and budget needs. Let us know what you have in mind for a glass countertop and we will help determine what thickness of glass is needed, and which hardware best suits the application.
The Glass Shoppe has clear, ultra clear, satin frosted, crackle, back painted and tinted glass options available. Your Glass countertop should be a focal point in your home. To accomplish this, we recommend 1″ to 1 1/2″ thick. If that is not thick enough for your design, custom countertops up to 3″ thick can be custom made. Standard Clear glass has a green cast to it. Keep in mind this green will be amplified when your counter is 1 1/2″thick.
Glass countertops can be cut and fabricated for your budget. This 3/4″ countertop was a budget friendly option. We love how this chiseled edge customized the 3/4″ glass.
Hardware used for your glass countertop will be determined during the design process. Glass standoffs are the preferred method for installation. Standoffs will determine how high your glass will sit. A low profile standoff of 3/4″ -1″ is commonly used. For a more dramatic look we have standoffs 6″ tall.
If you are using a back painted glass countertop, you might not need any hardware. The painted back glass can sit directly on your existing vanity or counter.
